NEW - Colorado State Park Pass Offered by Douglas County
Just in time for fall outdoor activities and Holiday gift-giving, the Colorado Annual State Parks Pass will be available for purchase, effective September 1 at the Douglas County Recorders office, 301 Wilcox Street in Castle Rock.
Colorado's Annual State Parks Pass is valid for a full 12 months after purchase. The pass is good through the last day of the month, one year from purchase.
Cost of the annual pass is $60.00 and allows entry to all 42 Colorado state parks including the three state parks located in Douglas County: Chatfield State Recreation Area, Roxborough State Park; and Castlewood Canyon State Park.

Fee Adjustment for Recorded Documents Effective July 1, 2010
House Bill 1007, which amends
§30‐1‐103 (1) and (4) C.R.S., has been signed into law by Governor Bill Ritter Jr. and takes effect on July 1,2010.
$11 for the first page and $5 for each additional page for recording standard sized documents (*includes $1.00 surcharge per document)
Eliminates the additional charges of $5 per grantor/grantee entries into the Index.
*Please note: The $1.00 surcharge per document remains in effect per §30‐10‐421 C.R.S. on most document types.
This fee adjustment will NOT impact the following documents: Oversized documents (Plats,Land Survey Plats), Federal Tax Liens, UCC's and Mining Claims. The fees for recording these documents will remain the same. If you have additional questions, please contact our office at 303.660.7446.
Passport Acceptance Facility
The Recording Office at 301 Wilcox St. in Castle Rock accepts passport applications between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. As part of our effort to provide diverse government services, we will also offer passport photo services during these same business hours. Our office can provide pictures for $8.00. Allow at least four weeks for the U.S. Department of State to process the application.

House Bill 1260 Designated Beneficiary Agreement Act
Designated Beneficiary Agreements provide a new tool for estate planning, giving Coloradans access to a low-cost and convenient method for making plans for end-of-life decisions, inheritance, and other protections related to health care and medical emergencies. They provide the opportunity for two unmarried adults to designate one another as the person entitled to certain financial protections and decision-making powers in major life events. Douglas County now offers a subscription service which allows you to view recorded images for only $50.00 per year. Images are available back to 1994, indexing data to 1983. All subdivision plats are available and land survey plats are in process. Once you've returned the signed agreement, $50.00 and a copy of your driver's license to the Recording Division, a username and password will be assigned. We cannot accept faxed agreements.

The duties of the Recording Division, as set forth by state statutes (laws), include the recording, indexing and preserving of permanent public documents, primarily real estate records. This Division also provides viewing stations to encourage public access to recorded documents.
Our website features a searchable grantee/grantor and reception number lookup application. We are offering our data via computer access in order to live up to our commitment to provide the finest service possible to the public.
You may order a copy of a recorded document with a written request and appropriate fees through the mail or you may come into our office. In either case you will need the recording information (reception number or book and page) and recording date to expedite the order.
