$200,000 Rebate Program Rewards Residential Energy Efficiency

Residents of unincorporated Douglas County, Lone Tree, Castle Pines North, and Larkspur are eligible for rebates on the purchase and installation of energy efficient water heaters, furnaces and boilers, windows, glass doors or additional insulation. A maximum of $200,000 has been set-aside for the rebates. Rebate amounts vary by product type, but range from $160 to $1,000 and are available until rebate funds are depleted.  To learn about energy efficiency rating expectations before making a purchase, as well as precise eligibility requirements and other energy saving ideas and programs visit www.myDCEnergySaver.com  or call the Douglas County Building Division at 303.660.7497.

Application requirements include a completed form, building permit (if applicable), original receipt or invoice that meets eligibility requirements, and verification or observation of installation.

All applications, regardless of applicant’s residence, must be submitted directly to Douglas County Building Services, 100 Third St., in Castle Rock, CO 80104, either in person, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., or by mail.  Once the application is received, rebates will take approximately eight weeks to be processed and mailed.

Funding for the rebate program is from an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) awarded to Douglas County by the U.S. Department of Energy in January 2010.   EECBG funds are made possible through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
